And One, Two, Three.....

Hectic week this one has been.
and I am back on the stage, as the performers you will see on this post.
My first experiences as a freelance photographer came from taking assignments for Musicians, since my significant other is one himself.
Imagine that!!!!photographers know that this is no easy task, Low light conditions, lots of movement, lots of grain....whoever can get decent shots on this atmosphere graduates on High Stress Level Photography.
I am in love with performers, the intensity level they put out is worth every effort to capture them; that is why I enjoyed so much photo shooting musicians, and street performers.
Take a look at the event I covered last week as Fundraiser for Haiti Relief efforts.

A Blurry Mind. A Reflection of a Reflection in the Dark

My mind went out numb,
Thinking about hope makes it even more unbearable..
Peace is what I seek and the reflections for the time being came back with a lot of Blur.
I guess, unintentionally in my life and intentionally on these images.
Look for the bright spot as it exists, even in the murky water.

Amazing Grace

It is the end of the week, and my heart goes out content.
To the point of no return, my eyes have seen how I can feel when I look at an image.
It went as deep as creating an utmost anxiety because I didn't want to touch the images.
Didn't know what to do with them, they were breathtakingly beautiful, creative, just as I have seen them in my mind.
The retributions were (above thousands of them), first; the fact that everything in the image is hand made, there is no layering, no Photoshop, just the hue and exposure adjustment;  and secondly  the wonderful quote when the model saw them and vehemently told me " This is exactly who I want to be, and how I want to feel, always relaxed and elated"

The Reflection of a Reflection: Warmer Hue

A body of water is a creativity mirror.
A body of water represents the pristine elements surrounding us.
It can filter your emotions and give your mind peace.
In remembrance of my last summer and the search of the reflection of a reflection I share these images.
Today they made me happy, they made me remember they are almost here again and they are building up a series.

Luminescence

At night it looked surreal, intimidating, silently moving....
Reflecting, hunting, and waiting to create the sound...
Once it passed, just beauty was left behind. A luminescence out of character.
From the bottom up, to blind the south.

Once Upon a Time...

...I worked on Film, Once upon a time I inhaled all the wonderful chemicals of the printing process...
Once upon a time I experimented with film negative overlaying (No Photoshop Effects)..
And Once upon a time I jumped in to the Digital Photography Wagon...
It was hard!!!, because for whatever reason in the beginning I felt I was betraying the trade...
Yesterday I found a folder of some printed images I did at my home based darkroom, perhaps in 2003...
They made me smile, I think I was already onto something back then...
What am I guilty of; What am I listening to behind that door?

And my son sure has a lot to build with his 2 year old hands.

It was a trip on memory Lane.

60 Seconds and Beyond.

Well, little by little I have been able to work and process most of the 1000 images I captured during my sun- loving-warm-wonderful trip to the Fl, Keys. After reviewing them again and again, I realized that they are mostly surreal like. Even the ones I took under a Realistic approach, I ended up trying to process them differently.
Maybe I am gearing more toward a path I am unaware of just yet, we will see, is too early too tell.
I am posting today a few images I took in the pitch black dark, by the pier that our little Motel had,no flash at all, most of them have more than 60 seconds exposure, sure they tend to be very grainy, but I like the silk-like texture the sea has, and take a look at the Heron that was in the pier in the middle of the Night, very interesting.

The Fire Breather.

I while back I posted some images from this experience; however I think that I only dedicated 2 to this fellow..
These ones have not stopped amazing me, they are intense, dark, ghastly, intriguing...
I don't know, I just really look at them intensively trying to comprehend the dynamics of his work....
If you want to see the complete series on my portfolio click here
BTW; first time I do 2 articles in one day.....

Sometimes. Oil on Canvas+Photography+ a Bunch of Different Stuff...

Sometimes, I just deviate from my regular photography skin, and try to print and press a little bit more manipulated images; for whatever reason, I always end up with ideas that look a little bit frantic, a little bit busy, a little bit.....out somewhere...

A While Back

During last summer, I was out on the streets of downtown with my camera in hand, it was a rather hot night; and people were walking, talking, laughing, cars driving by,  lots of movement around me, hard to concentrate on what to photograph...
Out of all those lights came an idea on how to put order to the activity, how to conceive geometrical halos....Here it is what came up from that thought, a series that somewhat has been very successful for commercial and exhibit purposes. Hope you like these images.
