Intimacy generally refers to the feeling of being in a close personal association and belonging together. It is a familiar and very close affective connection with another as a result of entering deeply or closely into relationship through knowledge and experience of the other. By following the definition above then, I conclude that the first and primary intimate relationship is with oneself; to try and find another intimate relationship to put o top of it is bound to fail;..... why? because if you cannot be familiar to yourself, if you have no knowledge of yourself, and specially if there is no transparency within yourself; How on earth can we even dare to experiment onto some other one?
It has taken a long time for me to really be introspective, I guess is the turning of the years.
